I spend about 4 hours trying to get a handful of models right and probably could have spent more time. The other scenery is one of there "4D" sceneries and takes up too much computing power to even use.Ĥ.) It is going to take a lot of time to get each model that I would want to fly set up like an electric version.

BUT! In the water right where you would launch is a gigantic island/rock formation that takes up a lot of real-estate within the scene making it so you have to fly either to or away from you to make a landing. I was able to move the CG forward a bit each model still took a bit of trim to get it to fly level.ģ.) The sceneries that they give you that allow you to fly the included float planes suck! The first one is Mono Lake in California and it looks great. Now here are my nit-picks about the costly upgrade:Ģ.) the CG editor is nice but not perfect. My goal is to make it as fast, twitch, floaty as my 1.1 meter foam warbirds. I was able to increase the motor output and change the deflection of each of the control surfaces to make it roll as fast as an aerobatic plane! It took a lot of tweaking to get it to fly like what I thought a foam version would fly like. What you do get though is the ability to change the scale, weight, and flying characteristics of every model! This means I was able to fly a 1.4 meter version of the F4U at only 2KG. You get an additional 165 models big whoop, and 38 more sceneries again, I don't really care that much because I like flying at Bennet Field. I thought what the hell lets see if its worth it. I thought well that's $100 total and still cheaper than RF7 or Phoenix sim.
CD KEYS AEROFLY RC 7 UPGRADE
I logged into the App Store and saw that the upgrade was $59.99. Well after sitting in a hotel for 4 days I got the itch to see what the upgrade is like. It also gave me a confidence boost when I was flying my real models. With the simulation rate turned up I found that I was getting much better at flying and in varying conditions. I found that I constantly needed about 50 units (25 clicks) of down trim to keep the model to fly strait and level at half power. Now this could be a function of my cord that connects my transmitter (DX6) to the computer or it could be just the way the program renders the simulations. The next problem I found was the trim on all of the models was not right. I would turn the simulation rate up to 1.5x and the F4U was pretty close to what I thought a foam version would fly like.

I quickly found the best work-around for the standard edition. They are both larger than 2 meter models. The P-40 would roll so slow you could almost watch and episode of FliteTest before it would finish! The F4U was a little faster in the roll department but was very very slow! Then it dawned on me. The two included warbirds the F4U and the P-40 did not fly anything like what I was uses to.

None of the free models are small and none of them are foam.

I purchased a simulator so I could practice flying a foam electric warbird. Initially this was perfect for me because one of the included sceneries is Bennet Field, my local flying field. All the sceneries, all the aircraft, and all of the "special features." With the standard version though you only get 30 aircraft and 5 sceneries.
CD KEYS AEROFLY RC 7 DOWNLOAD
The reason the download is so big is because they send you EVERYTHING right off the bat. If you were on DSL forget about it, just download it before you get to bed and when you get back home from work the next day it would be ready to instal.

My first major gripe with this program is if you purchase the standard version for $39.99 plus tax it is 6.6 Gigabytes worth of data! It took a LONG time to download and I have a reasonably fast connection. This is pretty nice because you don't have to wait for a DVD/CD to be sent to your house and if you decide to upgrade you can do it over the internet. Anyways I thought I would give a little mini review on AF7 in hopes that it helps someone decide on whether it is worth it or not.ĪeroFly 7 is no purchases directly from the App Store. I don't want to put windows on my laptop because I already have a limited amount of space on my solid state drive. Being a Mac guy means there are not a lot of choices for me when it comes to using an RC simulator. I did however bring my transmitter with me so I could do a little sim work while I was away. So I have been away from home doing some training and haven't been able to fly.
